The Rumor
Liam pushed open the creaky door to the music room, the musty smell of old instruments filling his nose. "Are you sure about this?" he asked, glancing back at his friends. Emma, with her drumsticks twirling between her fingers, nodded enthusiastically. "Absolutely! They say the ghost can play any instrument."
Alex, strumming a soft chord on his guitar, grinned. "If there is a ghost, we might finally get some help with our band." Sophie, the quiet one, adjusted her bass guitar strap and looked around the dimly lit room. "I don't see any ghosts," she said softly.
Just then, a piano note echoed through the room. Liam's eyes widened. "Did you hear that?" he whispered. Emma's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Let's see where it came from!"
The group tiptoed towards the old grand piano at the corner of the room. Suddenly, a series of playful, bouncing notes filled the air. "Show yourself!" Liam called out, half hoping, half fearing a response.
A shimmer appeared near the piano, gradually forming into a glowing, translucent figure. The ghost grinned, waving cheerfully. "Whoa!" Alex exclaimed, nearly dropping his guitar. "It’s real!"
"Hello there," the ghost said, in a voice that sounded like a gentle melody. "I'm Mr. Harmony."
Emma stepped forward, her curiosity overcoming her fear. "Can you really play any instrument?" Mr. Harmony nodded, picking up a violin and playing a lively tune. The kids were mesmerized.
Sophie, eyes wide, whispered, "We need to tell everyone!" But Liam shook his head, smiling. "No, let's keep this our secret. Imagine what we can learn!"
The kids agreed, their excitement bubbling over. They spent the rest of the afternoon playing music with Mr. Harmony, laughter and melodies filling the room. The adventure had just begun.
