Little Squirrel and the Starry Night

Too Busy for Bedtime
As evening settled over the forest, Little Squirrel dashed through the fallen leaves, his laughter echoing among the trees. He didn’t want the day to end—not when there were still games to play and friends to chase. But soon, his mother’s voice called from their tree hollow, “It’s time for supper, Little Squirrel. You need to rest.”
Little Squirrel wrinkled his nose and sighed. “Why sleep when I could be having fun?” he muttered, reluctantly shuffling inside. He sat at the supper table, nibbling at his food and thinking about the games he had to leave behind. As his mother tucked him into bed, he whispered rebelliously, “Sleep is useless.”
But when the forest grew quiet, and his mother’s soft lullaby faded away, Little Squirrel made a secret decision. He tiptoed out of the hollow, ready for a nighttime adventure under the stars.
