A Day of Changes

Ginger, the tiny ginger hamster, lived happily in a big house in a cozy hamster cage. He was owned by a little boy named Tommy, who loved playing with him. On nice days, Tommy would place Ginger’s cage outside in the yard where the hamster could enjoy the beautiful scenery and chat with the birds perched in the high maple tree.

"Hi Ginger, how are you today?" the birds would ask in their tiny chirping voices.

"Oh, I’m fine," Ginger would reply cheerfully. "What can happen to me? Tommy feeds me lots of tasty veggies and grains and cleans my house regularly. Come, have some grains." He then shared some tasty parsley and corn from his plate with the birds. They talked about life, enjoying each other's company until the birds had to fly off to attend to their busy lives.
