The Mysterious Threads
Casy wiggled along a tree branch, her tiny legs tickling the bark. She stopped suddenly. Something shiny stretched between two twigs, glittering in the sunlight.
“What is this?” she wondered, touching the thread. It stuck to her leg like glue. “Ew! Sticky!”
A spider, small and confident, lowered himself from above on a silky strand. “Careful, caterpillar! That’s my web.”
Casy tilted her head. “You made this? It’s so... sparkly!”
The spider puffed up his chest. “Of course! I’m Webber, and this is my masterpiece.”
Casy stared at the web. “Why’s it so sticky?”
“It’s a secret tool,” Webber said proudly. “Sticky threads catch my food.”
Casy’s brown eyes widened. “You eat the things that get stuck?”
Webber chuckled. “Exactly. But don’t worry, I’m not eating you.”
Casy giggled. “Good! I’d hate to be dinner.”
Webber grinned. “Stick around. You might learn something!”
