The Echo in the Bone
Tril bounced cheerfully through the warm, rushing river of blood, his tiny arms stretched wide as he carried his precious cargo of oxygen. The familiar rhythm of the heartbeat thrummed around him like a gentle drum, and he hummed along happily. He loved this feeling — knowing that every cell he visited would sparkle with life because of the oxygen he brought.
As he whooshed past the sturdy, white walls that surrounded him, Tril marveled at how safe and protected he felt. These weren't just any walls — they were the mighty bones that kept all the important parts of the body safe and sound, like a fortress protecting a treasure. The bones held everything in place, giving the body its wonderful shape.
Suddenly, Tril's humming stopped. Through the bone's thick wall, he heard something magical — a soft, gentle lullaby that seemed to drift from deep within. The melody was so sweet and soothing that it made his little heart flutter with a strange, warm feeling.
"Do you hear that beautiful song?" Tril called to his friend Big Red, who was floating nearby.
Big Red chuckled, his larger form wobbling with laughter. "Oh, Tril! That sounds like a baby cell cradle song to me!"
Tril couldn’t quite remember where he was born or what it felt like, but the lullaby stirred something familiar inside him, something warm and longing. He wanted to remember.
