It was a crisp autumn morning in Numberwood Forest, and squirrel siblings Sam and Sally were busy gathering acorns for winter.

"I love collecting acorns!" Sam chattered, adding another acorn to his growing pile. "They're everywhere under the old oak trees!"

Sally nodded, her fluffy tail twitching with excitement. "Me too! I found so many good ones by the stream."

Just then, Rabbit Ruby hopped through the fallen leaves, her white cotton tail bouncing.

"What are you two up to?" Ruby asked curiously, noticing their neat piles of acorns.

"Gathering acorns for winter!" Sally replied, pointing to her collection. "Look, I have 8 acorns!"

Sam gestured proudly to his pile. "And I have 12 acorns!"

Ruby's eyes lit up as she looked at both piles. "Oh, how interesting! Sam, you have more acorns than Sally. 12 is greater than 8!"

The squirrel siblings looked at their acorn piles with new interest.

"You know what?" Sam said with a grin. "This gives me an idea! Sally, let's make it a friendly competition!"

"Yes!" Sally agreed excitedly. "We can gather acorns each day and compare how many we find!"

"What a wonderful plan!" Ruby clapped her paws. "You can see who collects more each day!"
